Reflective Surfaces

I began taking some close up shots of a diamond, as it is a very reflective surface, and gave me the chance to use my extention tubes again. Although I found this task very difficult and am not overly impressed with the results. I would of liked to use a better quality macro lens, as it would have portrayed more beauty and depth in the diamond, a long with struggling to get the light to reflect in good places. It was very fiddly and I don't think I would use this image as a final for anything, but I learnt quite a bit from doing the task. I would like to edit this image a on the platinum of the ring, and centralise it.

This next image is of another reflective surface, of a Dior purfume bottle. I chose to photograph this bottle as when lights are reflected off it, a lot of colours emerge and it has a magical feel about it. I chose to put the bottle in fabric as I felt it had a more luxurios feel that if I'd just shot it on a flat surface. Although this image was taken with one continuous light, and if I were to re-shoot I would rather have done it at uni with more equipment to controll the lighting and remove the reflection of the light on the bottle.
